Think harder.
The subject in the first case is the one receiving the link. The subject in the second case is the one providing the link. You switched the subjects yourself and got confused.
Learn, Misogi, learn! Boldly and forthrightly! (and you haven't thanked davix for the lesson in life yet, even though I told you you owe him)

It's not a bold and forthright approach to learning. It's a bold and forthright approach to teaching. You're not quite ready to discuss how to teach because you haven't yet grasped how to learn. But we'll make a decent person out of you yet.

You should approach learning boldly and forthrightly. Don't be opposed to that.

Misogi, giving people links through google search is always a great idea. You're not opposed to the concept of learning, are you?

no you aren't , hmmm I don't really get it but cmert the goal is not to give them short term guidence , but simply to make them know more so they won't bother you. true my method may be wrong , but it is also effective. "give a man a fish feed him for a day, teach him to fish feed him for a life time" .
The dictionary is very long term. You will use it long past the time you stop reading books on a language. He asked for the meaning of a single word/kanji. Certainly, a dictionary is the appropriate resource, not any book you can get from Amazon (unless it's a paper dictionary). Don't you agree?

Kentra, the alphabet is the EASY part It's the English use of the Latin alphabet that's screwed. The letter A is read like in Russian in practically every language And yeah, it's rare to see someone in this manga community who places Japanese this low.

If someone asks you about the meaning of a word, you'd tell them to buy books on Amazon rather than point them to an online dictionary? You think that's more efficient? You must have a unique definition of efficiency then.

I think you're selling yourself too short. Well, you're a work in progress, no one expects much from you in the beginning. But eventually you will learn to think on your own and figure things out with some hints and tough love. Very soon, you might catch up to davix even. You know, 愛の鞭 and all that, hehe.

I did indeed.
Look how much it helped him grow.
Should my next project be you?

Don't value others by how useful they are to you, value yourself by how useful you are to others.

It's times like these when I wish I actually had the time, patience, and drive to learn a different language. (Though I want to learn Russian more than anything else.) You don't aim low, do you? Russian is easier than Japanese, but not by much.

Misogi, don't forget to thank davix426 for the lesson in life.

Charly, lmgtfy is there specifically to make someone feel like an idiot, so they can learn and grow through that painful experience. Anyway, he doesn't know any Japanese, how are you going to make him use a dictionary with a Japanese interface? Also, the one you're thinking of is probably that crap freedict. The first link that comes up on google uses wwwjdic, so it's all good.
Misogi, you're still sore? You should learn to let it go.
